THE DESIGN INCUBATOR S/S 08 PROJECT: EMPTINESS

INTRODUCTION

Each of us is an independent individual. We own different background experience and
emotion in the process of our lives; we go through birth, aging, sickness and death.
When we face these conditions, we probably get frustrated in some way, some how; and
may be part of a natural process of grief, as resulting of separation, death of a loved
one, or other significant changes to one's life. Unfortunately, life cannot be erased. What people can do with those unpleasant memories is trying to forget alternated or escape the place where cause it happened. When we try to remove the feeling of bitter, sadness or shameful, we spin a story to cover it or to keep as a secret. Those unwanted past then become choreographed blank memories.

The mode of forgetting is emptiness. Emptiness is a mode of perception, a way of
looking at experience. It adds nothing to and takes nothing away from the raw data of
physical and mental events. This project is trying to figure out the many different kinds of representations of our inner self we have seen the paths mapped out by contemplatives as they journey toward their own center or toward the ultimate reality.

GOAL AND OBJECTIVES

The project would demonstrate ten different women’s story and represent their
characters by designing 6 outfits as a collection. It is a journey with stories that involve with earnest subjects of discussion, including sex abuse, abortion and cancer...etc. The project is wished to arise of people’s importance in a female whom is suffering or has ever suffered the fear from the present or past, moreover to encourage people to step forward instead of bearing. Clothing is often referred to as a second skin. It is also a way to protect people and gives a false impression or truly reflection of it own emotion. The project will connect the relationship between clothes and emotional of human being closely. Fashion design should not only show the current trend and idea but also involved with our society and concern the individual and the group.

TARGET CUSTOMER

The look of C JEAN women is self-confident, modern and smart. It is suitable for women age approximately 25-45 who looks for subtlety and elegance in their appearance; and also have awareness of particular pattern cutting and highly sophisticated fabric chosen.
