More ImagesThe Chrysalis collection is a summer 08 collection which draws its inspiration from the delicate jagged constructions of insect's wings focusing on dragonfly wings. The concept to the collection is about fragile structures using light weight fabrics to create softly sculpted shapes, which is where the inspiration of the insect wings takes place as well as being influenced by spider webs and snowflakes. Between crackling lightness and quivering fluidity fabrics such as washed cotton, fine silks and super soft jersey are used to bring out the concept and movement of the collection.The colour palette is stimulated by shells and sunsets which includes cream, earthy brown, powdery palette of pink combined with a vibrant sunset aesthetic of sienna sand, dusky green and rose madder, bringing out the wonderful colours that dragonflies possess. Ruffles become the focus of the collection with various shapes within the dresses and jacket generating a strong silhouette that defines the female form.
